Headed out yesterday with a group of fellow BEST members and ran Isabel. I'd read on here and seen pictures of downed trees, but you have to see it to fully appreciate it!

In addition to the one treefall pictured on this site, there are four or five more that are comparable! A couple of us brought our chainsaws expecting to make sawdust, but some good souls beat us to it. :D

Once we reached the log bridge the snow was 6-12 inches deep and covering everything. I unknowingly nearly put my passenger tires off the durn bridge
Then we proceeded to flog our way up the rocks as best we could. Two of us got about half way up to the waterfall with minor winch assistance, a couple others broke a front axle and two shock mounts respectively. After fighting all that for a couple of hours we called it a day. Met some guy in a desert camoed exo-skeletoned XJ named Dan, he followed our broken axle casualty Bill out. Thanks Dan! :D
A hearty thank you to any and all who went out there and cut away all of that treefall on the trail, we would've spent all day doing just that had some folks not stepped up! :D

Cheers to the Reiter lumberjacks!!!

I got borede and blasted up the trail, pasted a parked rig on this side of the bridge. Got past the bridge but the snow covered rocks were a weee bit iced up and my lil boy was getting cold so I headed back down.

Was that yesterday you were up there, Crash? We reached the bridge about noon and headed back down at about 2 p.m. The snow covered rocks were wicked slick, I kept waiting for the tell-tale metallic crack of an axle each time I cleared a large rock

I'm not a huge fan of tire-spinning, rock-chucking, balls-out flogging, but that was the only way to make any progress! Okay, I'm a little bit of a fan of it, but it's too damn hard on the rig! Luckily our group had relatively minor breakage and were all able to drive out no problem. :redneck:
