Reiter right now looks like a war zone... If you go up there, bring a good saw.. We tried to get up isabel, and had cut like 5 trees, and didn't even make it to the first switchback (one with the steep rock face) due to a rather large clump of trees that uprooted.. SO if you go up there, you need a good saw with a big bar(18-20") to get that bulk of stuff outa there.. I will have pics of the clump here later...

Damn.... I was going to go up Isabel tomorrow. My saw is dead too. I was worried the wind might have downed some trees.

And if anybody thinks its a good idea to try and go around it, please don't.. I walked the hill side looking to just divert thr trail, and its very wet/sloppy and will just cause problems.... If anybody wants help getting the tree problem fixed let me know. I am game...

Fozzy and myself went up to go to the wall and right after u get past that rock hill on the right there looks like there is about 50 plus trees down. So we decided to hit Isabella we crossed may creek then took some little side trail it ends up right on the switch back Crash is takin about we had to move 5-6 trees ( no saw or axe) so we decided to take the main road back but couldnt due to that clump Crash has a pic of.

I dont have a saw, but I am willing to provide man/winch power. Why dont we set a date (this weekend or next week) to clear them all out. I am on vacation from Dec 13-21, so I'll have plenty of time.

I can supply man/winch power as well, as long as a Suburban can fit in there. Maybe we should look into some type of work party?

:p :p :p :p LAUGH my f-in ass off!!! Why dont we schedule a clean up for Sat? As long as we have a saw or 3, and some guys to do it, we should have no prob. As for the 'Burb, it way struggle through some tight spots on Isabelle, but Im sure you can ride with one of us to get op the tight spots.

I was kind of expecting someone with a saw to be around on Sunday. Was hoping I could help out. I really wanted to go up Isabell. However, it sounds like there is another mess a little further up the road.

There was a ton of trees down all over reiter. We were wheelin over and draggin trees out the way all day. I won't be down that way again untill after the first of the year. Take me about 1.5 hrs one way. So y'all get that cleaned ight.....

Bwahahahahah!

I can get the burb probably up to the 1st switchback, but not sure too far past that. I usually wheel a Zuk, and oftentimes forget the size differences. (rear bumper is a testament to that) It's usually a "I can make it through that.....BANG!" Sat may work, I just need to be out by about 2:00 or so. X-mas party that night.

My dad has agreed to let me borrow his 20" saws. I'll be up there on Sat, to start clearing as much as I can. I plan on being in the gravel lot at 10am, to air down and then head up to Issabelle. If anyone is willing to help, let me know and we'll meet up and go from there. We'll need a multitude of tools, including full size shovels, saws, and pck axes just to be safe. And if anyone can gain access to about 25 lbs of C4, we'll be done in no time! :redneck:

Also, does anyone knoe what the laws are regarding hauling out fallen trees? IE can I haul out some cedar if I so choose, being that it has already fallen and I did not cut it down??

You need a permit to hawl ANYTHING out of there, and its a greater penalty to hawl cedar out of there...

As Crash said you need a permit. You can get one at the Ranger station up in Skykomish. It's like $10 but I don't know where all the permit is good for.

Hell, for that much trouble ill just leave it there and let Nature take care of it.

We now have 4 saws, and numerous other tools, between only 2 guys. Can anyone else come help out?? We got 2 extra saws to help limb/cut the trees out. We also plan on righting the stumps, instead of pulling them out, and letting nature take care of the rest on those too, so anyone with a winch/snatch block/tree saver is needed. I'll be at the gravel lot @ 10am, so watch for my Red 87 4Runner and my buddies 85 Truck.

Well, we worked from 9 till about 4, and didn't make it but 1/2 way down the trail... We must have removed at least 15 tree's.. Last one was a 30" cottom wood layed at an angle to the trail, and what a pian it was to get it out of there...

A group of us from the Boeing 4x4 club are going to be up there on the 29th. The plan is to head up Isabelle, and we'll have a couple of saws with us. (20" and 30" bars) Hopefully we'll make further progress and the trail will be passable by the end of the day, if it isn't already.

I'm planning on going up with a couple of small saws on Sunday, but won't be up there until around 11am.

Anyone who wants to join in let me know and we can meet somewhere.

A 30" bar. Thats a baby one. I've got a 48",40",24",20". I'm sure one of them would cut that little tree. If my buddy goes up I'll cut it.

According to your own post a 30" saw would be more of a big brother saw, your 20" being the baby. :redneck:

At any rate, we didn't have to use the saws we brought. If it was you guys who cleared some of those trees out of there, thanks! :)
