i have an 84 s10 blazer that i want to lift. would like to know if any one has any suggestions on a reputable company to buy from, or if any prefab lift is manufactured for this year. also looking to run on 35's would like any advise on how much lift i would need to do so.

thanks

sorry, i can't imagine anything that would help a rig who's wheels are painted bright red and has a big, red fugly spoiler on the back. re-post this after we cut the top off with the sawzall. :finger:

j/k, you'll need probably 5" to get 35's up there without some creative cutting (which will be fun anyway...)

seriously though, ease of installation is also a consideration. pyro and i will be installing this ourselves, and when we get together with tools, we don't stay sober for long.

Ok, I'll bite...

S-10 (or doing any GM IFS lift) sucks. Cutting, and welding, will be involved. I don't know if trailmaster builds it or not anymore, but I think they did a 5" lift. That with a 2-3" body lift will clear 35's on an S-10 without trimming. However, 35's on S-10 running gear is grand entertainment for all watching, except those behind you on the trail. :D Now if all you are doing is looking good at the mall, then go for it.

(disclaimer: I only know this because I was the bolt on king at my old job. I do not endorse or recommend the above actions. Now if this is a joke post, then I apologize for posting back :finger: )

You should SAS it if you are actually going to wheel it. It would probably be cheaper too. I would go with a toyota solid axle, they can be found pretty cheap(I think there is a few in the For Sale section). But if its just a mallr go buy a :rainbow::ba: IFS lift, leave the diffs open, put a bunch of body lift on it and go get yourself an Orange Julyis.:finger:

last i saw the 5" lift was like 1200 bucks.for that kinda money u better think about an sas.like a toyota front or a dana 44.it will be way cheaper and wheel way better.my buddy has an s10 with a 350 in it and 32's and believe me u dont want to run that front end.we had problems everytime out.although his tcase has held up to some punishment though, and rearend.just between balljoints and cv's,its a friggin hassle.
not to mention the little 2.8 under the hood,i assume thats what is there, those motors have trouble turnin 35's without gearing so with out a doubt GEARS AND SAS is the only way to go.plus installin an sas on a blazer is easier than the ifs lift.
good luck buddy, might wanna check out some s10 sites, they may be able to tell you more.like s-104x4.com and im sure there are others.
