Ok thjose out there with way more engine noise knowledge than me this if for you.
I have a "knock" Its loud when I first start up the Jeep, then quiets down as the engine warms up but does not go away. When I an driving in town its always present. When I drive on the freeway, it comes and goes with changes in RPMs. And lastly, this puzzles me, when I am going down hill, with the manual tranny still engauged and let up on the gas without steppng on the brake, the sound goes away.
What the heck kind of "knock" do I got??
Lifter, rod bearing, main bearing??
