Is there a difference between a TH350 in a 4wd and one in a 2wd?
Will one from a 2wd work in a 4wd truck? I don't really know much about chevys. I'm building one now and just had a question.

The 4WD version uses a much shorter output shaft than the 2WD versions. You can swap the 4WD shaft into a 2WD tranny but it requires disassembling the tranny.

Also the case on the 4x4 trans is stronger.
look for a "K" cast into the bellhousing.

Ok thanks, I'll just buy a 4wd TH400 and sell the 2wd TH350.

If you can find a th400 bolted to a 205 tcase it shoud have a short shaft.Makes life much easier.
