I have a 74 cj5 with 33x12.5 tsl's on 8" wheels with a 3.5inch backspace. My problem is that I dont have hardly any turning radius until my tires lock up on my front leafs. trying to find out what I should do to try to fix the problem without buying another set of new wheels ( there only two weeks old).

Well, you could buy wheel spacers $$$$$$$, but they would cost more than another set of wheels. You could convert to link suspension with coils or coilovers $$$$$$$. Or, you mentioned yourself, the easiest solution.

Different rims or a wider axle.

Hey I am having a similar problem with my front axle. So I just went to my friend(a machinist) dean and he made me some 3/4in spacers for a reasonable price. All I had to do is research the longer wheel studs and wha-lah my tires should fit. I havent tried them yet though. I have larger wheel studs but I know someone sells longer ones because of the racers. You have a dana 30 front right? I bought Dormann studs. I bought mine from Billybobs Offroad here in Puyallup.
