I've had same set green H/H rain gear for 18years used mainly at work they hold up good and are pretty warm . Make sure ya get acouple sizes bigger so your coat fits under them and doesn't fit tight.

I have a set of Helly Hanson "IMPERTECH" rain gear. Ive had it for a few years now and love it. Its kinda spendy, but well worth it. Lightweight, Stretches, and it stronger than hell. My suggestion is to look into it and see what you think. I think you would be very happy.

Check this out Mike...

Yup, I'd agree that Helly hanson is the best. I had a set that I lived in, when working on an Alaskan Fishing boat. It was what most of everyone used.

There's also "Grundens" which are really good. They are made with the same strong quality, and close to the same price.

Oh yeah, Gortex, great stuff! Really spendy, not bulky, lightweight, warm, looks cool, and super strong.

If you want something thats really lightweight, cheap, and semi strong, I would suggest getting a set of "Hercules". They do have a tendancie to rip under heavy use. If you're looking for "just rain gear", and on a budget, that's what I'd suggest.

Last but not least there is the old military rain gear. Now unless you have some kind of sexual "Gumby Fetish" stay away! The stuff leaks from the seams, you would constantly be doing maintnance, stink, and look really funny! Then again I'd get a good laugh if you got some and posted the pictures. Thank god the military switched over to Gortex!

I hated the rubber/plastic Gumby suit!

Brad and I use H/H.He has the full suit,I only have the bib bottoms with a North Face parka. The stuff works great, especially if you layer properly under it,yer good all day.Pooping is the only issue I have found, gotta plan ahead.

Green H/H the Uniform of ROR (Whatever that means....)

Don't spend more than $40.
I got my set at Sportys in Redmond a couple years ago on sale for like $30.

I would have been miserable on New Years Day if it wasn't for my H/H suit, poloar fleece shirt and Carhart pants.
Oh yeah and my wool sweater, and poly pro t-shirt.

With that outfit I can stay out in the wet and cold for hours and be comfortable.

:D

I've run a full H/H green suit for a couple of years now

I love it, keeps you clean & dry but obviously doesn't do much for keeping you warm.

Mike - they have a factory direct store downtown - used to know someone who worked there - She got some pretty good deals both from a discount and in-store sale stuff... They may be able to beat the local prices or have older "last years model" stuff on the clearence rack; It's worth a look...

Look here:

and the local store is:

http://www.hhworkwear.com/stores/show_by_region.php?country=USA&region=WA

I don't see the outlet - maybe it closed!? I have not talked to my friend in the last year and a half or so :p She moved to cali. and that was about the end of it....

In that case Kelly's may be your best bet Mike - although the Safety and Supply Co @ 5510 East Marginal Way South sounds interesting...

I got all setup now, went with the lower priced ones for the top, and spent the $$$ and got the good quality for the lowers, and they worked GREAT for this last weekend...
