Hi I was wondering a few things I hear alot about Walker Valley, Elbe Hills, Reiter Pit... etc I was wondering how modified do you have to be to run some of the places here in Western WA. Lets hear what your opnions are.

You don't need to make any mods, just run the trails that your Jeep is equipped for.

I understand how to run trails I am equipped for. I don't know squat about any of the trails here and what I don't want to do is plan on going somewhere and then getting there and realizing I am not set up to run there... so I guess what I am asking is what trails can I run then with the following vehicles:
90 YJ
4.0
NV3550
NP231 W/SYE
D30 with TJ shafts Open
8.8 TracLok
2.5" lift
32" tires
4.10 Gears
1976 FSJ Cherokee
401
T18a
D20
D44 F/R
3.54 Gears
31" Tires

The YJ should be able to handle most (75-80%) of the trails around the area provided you have a good knowledge on how to drive and/or listen to a spotter. A winch could be helpful just in case, just remember to stay on the "TRAIL". And of course weather makes a huge differance.

Being open diff front & rear will make things a little more interesting. A winch would be good to have or go with a buddy who has one.
Most of the dedicated trails around here don't require alot of mods but they will be challenging with no lockers & 32" tires.
There's a group going to Reiter on Sunday, you ought to hook up with them.

All I can suggest is that you hook up with the people posting trips that are going to reiter & walker valley, there's something for everyone.
That's why people post the trips, to get everyone out wheelin :redneck:

Judging from your vehicle description you should be able to handle most of the trails at Evans Creek (except the switchback loop on 198...or was it on 197?).
You should probably stay out of Elbe until you are ready for deep mud, stumps, and actually have a winch or are with friends (more than one) who have the winches. I rescued a group of guys at Elbe once who spent the night on the trail stuck in a stock cj7...6 months later he had 35s and lockers. Learned his lesson.
Walker valley...you could handle some of it but some of it goes from easy to "extreme" very quickly for a stock vehicle.
You could do the entire naches trail and pretty much everything in the naches trail system (except the Kaner when it is wet...stay away from it when it is raining!) That mud can get so slippery it is amazing and then make it a steep long hill climb and it can get downright dangerous. Oh yes, there is a really tight trail over there you'd probably get some dents on...I can't quite remember the name of it...dangit!.....thinking.....thinking......it really isn't that challenging just really tight between the trees...they relocated it a few years back cause it used to run along a cliff and there were some injuries on it...If someone remembers please post it cause they should be warned about it.
thats all the time I got for now...l8er

I know the Lower Rattlesnake was re-routed, but I don't know if that was the reason. Been a few trails in the Naches system open and closed through the years.
Back on topic, I wheel all over the place on 32's and for most of this summer without a front locker. Now I got a front locker, and cant' turn :redneck: . Of course, Zuks defy all logic anyway, as to where they should or shouldn't be.
I always surprise people (including myself) as to where I've made it through, and then 100 yards later will lose my attention and get stuck on flat snow.
Tankota-Guess you haven't been to Elbe lately. The playground where the mud was is all but a memory, gone, never to retun, logged off. Yes When Elbe is wet body damage is likely but it's all for fun.
Tigger90YJ; If you know Jay he's been wheelin with us. Anytime you hear we're goin' you're more than welcome. Any friend of Jay's is a friend of.......well we'll just see how it goes:redneck:

OD Toy - I will keep an eye out for you guys.. I drive a black YJ and soon a Blue FSJ Cherokee.
Jay, there was room for 33's when I lifted it but 100 bucks for 4 32" m/t's with about 85% of the tread left was too good of a deal to pass up.
