cold weather no start= bad battery

cjould this be true? My XJ has statred fien since I replaced the statrer a couple of months ago, but it won't start now that its got a bit chilly out. If it sits for a few hours its fine, but overnight or even during school it wont come alive. So, I thinking I might need a new battery.

Cold temp = more resistance. (I think that's how that works, I could be wrong).

My Burb went through same deal last winter, became very much noticeable at elk camp when it was 6degrees. Replaced battery, all is well. :redneck:
