To persons interested in ORV noise issues:
In recent years, off-road vehicle (ORV) noise has become a hot topic in some places in Washington State.
To respond, the Washington State Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation (IAC) is looking for your input on how best to address ORV noise in both residential and non-residential areas. Come tell us what you think at one of two workshops to be held October 10th and 19th at the locations listed below.
At the request of the state legislature, IAC staff is examining ORV noise regulations and related enforcement around the country. At the workshops, a team of experts under contract to IAC will present several options for addressing noise, and some of benefits of each approach. We hope you will attend a workshop to share your knowledge about ORV noise and provide comments on the various options.
Your input will help develop ORV education and training approaches, model ordinances, and other recommendations for fair, practical, and effective ways to address this important issue.
If you plan to attend, so that we can have enough materials and refreshments on hand, please RSVP to this automated link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=113182637198 [Or, respond to: AmieF@iac.wa.gov (360/902-3086, or Telephone Device for the Deaf 360-902-1996).] If you cannot attend, we will be sending out an online survey that will allow you to provide ideas.
