iMac would be good for kids.
Mini tower has 2 CD drives so it works decent for burning CDs and comes with a nice 17" monitor.

Seems like my Karma might need some help these days, so I'm willing to donate either of these computers to somebody's kids if they need them. They are not the latest and greatest, but both work fine for internet access, word processing........
