Nope
a carbed tranny for an 87 toyota is a G54. it has a forward shift tcase.
An EFI tranny for a 87 truck is a W56. It has a top shift tcase.
So which tranny do you have????

Its a 5 speed manual top shift 86'. Whats the difference? My truck is the first year for IFS, but still had the carb 22r. Its all the same for EFI just different intake.

One is a forward shifting t-case. Where the t-case shifters come out of the trans
And the other has a top shifting t-case where the shifters come out of the top of the t-case

Dont worry timber, i learned that the hard way too. I bought an 86 for the tranny and got the g54 instead of the w56 like i wanted. oops :banghead:

Yea, but I did not know what tranny everybody wants and when I bought the truck, I was young and did not know a lot about trucks because it was a nice straight body, low miles. Now it has a 350 v8, TH400, MP205 t-case, and just did the straight alxe conversion with a DANA 44. Thanks for the info. about the toyota tranny. :banghead: :jug:
