This is the advisory committee I am currently on that reviews grants. I will post the general info here, if someone wants the actual grant application send me a pm.
Hello. The Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation is seeking three volunteers for advisory committee positions on its standing National Recreational Trails (NRTP) Program Advisory Committee. Persons selected to receive this email are on at least one of the following IAC mail listings: NOVA and NRTP Advisory Committees, WWRP - Trail program interest, and applicants. To change your listing, please contact Patty Dickason (pattyd@iac.wa.gov)
The trails committee advises IAC on program policies, project funding and statewide planning. Generally, members are asked to attend one weekday meeting a year and spend 10-20 hours evaluating projects for funding. When the budget allows, per diem is provided.
The openings are:
§ Motorized trail recreation: One position is open for those candidates with All-terrain Vehicle experience. The appointment is through December 2009.
§ Nonmotorized trail recreation: One position is open for water trail candidates. The appointment is through December 2009.
§ Nonmotorized trail recreation: One position is open for mountain bicycle candidates. The appointment is through December 2009.
The ideal candidate has a statewide perspective in the category represented, is recognized for trail experience, and is knowledgeable on trail issues. Candidates selected should be able to fully participate in committee activities, and be able to show support from those in the category represented. IAC also seeks to attain a committee that represents the state's diversity.
Past members may re-apply. NRTP committee members may hold membership in organizations that submit NRTP grant applications to IAC.
The National Recreational Trails Program has been an important source of grant funding in Washington since 1994 and, in recent years, has provided more than $1 million annually for trails. Through the years, the advisory committee has provided guidance for funding 282 projects. The NRTP Program places its highest priority on supporting maintenance, operation, and renovation of existing trails.
Interested persons should complete and return the attached application to IAC no later than March 8, 2006. We will notify all applicants of the outcome of this process. For more information please contact Lorinda Anderson at 360/ 902-3009 (lorindaa@iac.wa.gov).
Please note the IAC is also recruiting for members on the Land and Water Conservation Fund Advisory Committee. Please check our Web site at: http://www.iac.wa.gov/ and look for the announcement under News and Events.
