im thinking about rope for my future and the snatch block must match the rope diam or it will destroy the rope. same goes for wire but not as drastic.

so if the radius if for a 3/4" and you stretch a 1/2" rope it will damage the rope.

thats why i asked the radius question.

untill i go with the rope i have a snatchblock fo rthe size cable i have now.

not a bad price at all.

We're going to 3/8" rope as soon as I get a fairlead and snatch. Brian, gotta know the radius :D

depending on timing maybe a group buy on rope :redneck:

actually i need a new motor for my winch before i go spending money on rope. im gonna try to remove all the copper feathered over from the copper brushes on the copper commutator. did that once and it worked again for a few months. im thinking the old school carbon brushes in the old obsolete warn motors is better.

i bought a new motor when i got the used winch about five years ago and it has seen heavy use but i should not have to replace the motor every five years :hmmm:

sorry for the hijack i do really want to know the radius of the pulley groove :D

the pulley has a diameter of 4". radius of 2". the groove is 5/8 in diameter although custom work is available.

Dimensions are only half the equation though... what material are you using (specific grade of steel or aluminum)?

brian d

1018 steel, or 6061 aluminum. the center pin is made of chrome shafting(1045?)
