Another Stolen Jeep Cherokee

:( Someone saw my post on Craigslist and suggested I also post a notice here. It is a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Sport (XJ). The right-hand mirror is hanging off the side. I had just ordered a replacement about two hours before it was stolen and it arrived yesterday. It was stolen on Tuesday, October 11th, between 3:30 and 4:30 from the garage where I work, near Alderwood Mall. I was able to get the locations of other vehicles stolen that week to attempt to find mine, but no luck. I did not have theft insurance and have been feeling pretty down. I put quite a bit of time into working on my XJ - nothing major, but the most I have ever on any car. I was learning a lot and developed quite a bond. I really thought it would have been recovered by now, and I hope it is just sitting safely somewhere where someone will notice it (and not have it towed). I spent some more time driving around from Shoreline to Lynnwood on Saturday to see if I might find it but no luck still. Any help is truly appreciated!

Yeah; it totally sucks. I realized a few days later that the truck parked next to where my XJ would have been was still there. And it was a strange spot in the garage where nobody would normally park because you can't just pull straight in with any vehicle. I looked closer and noticed the driver side window open, the glovebox open, and papers all over the bench seat. I called it in and it turned out to have been stolen the same day as mine. That truck could have sat in our garage for weeks or even months if I hadn't gotten suspicious of it!

I just retrieved my XJ. I had a voicemail when I got to work this morning from the Edmonds police that they had found it outside the emergency room at Stevens Hospital. I didn't authorize impound when I filled out the police report, so they rolled up the windows and locked it up and left it there for me to come get. The brakes might need looking at, but otherwise it seems fine. (Just a few personal things missing.) I am so happy to have it back! :)
